This Pterodactyl model made of 1/4" RevolutionPly® plywood. The model is about 18 in long with a wingspan of about 36 in. Has 27 individuals interlocking pieces can be taken apart and re-built multiple times. Comes with a 9-page color assembly manual. The Pterodactyl will slowly oscillate with air flow.
Pterodactyl means "Winged Finger". The Pterodactyl had a wingspan of anywhere between a few inches up to over 40 feet long. They are believed to have flown long distances using large wings and they had above average eyesight to help them to catch their prey.
Paleontologists classify Pterodactyls as flying reptiles and not dinosaurs. The Pterodactyl is a genus of Pterosaurs. It was the first to be named and identified as a flying reptile. It was a carnivore and probably preyed upon fish and other small animals. Like all Pterosaurs, the wings of the Pterodactyl were formed by a skin and muscle membrane stretching from its elongated fourth finger to its hind limbs. When completed, the model can be glued and painted, stained or left natural. The interlocking pieces can be taken apart and re-built multiple times. Very suitable for a display model at home, office or at school.
Each piece is sanded, splinter free and durable. For fit and appearance, some of the pieces may require a touch-up using a finger nail file or sandpaper. The model will stay together without glue. The model is shipped via USPS Priority Mail.
